Martial Arts for Street Fighting

self defense classes

Martial arts are a great way of protecting yourself from street violence. Krav Maga is an example of self-defense that teaches techniques for street fighting. It is important to know your weight before you enter a street fight. The stronger person will almost always win.

Combat Sambo

Combat Sambo is a kind of wrestling. It's more of self-defence sport than a competitive one. Its roots are in the Soviet Union where it was developed by the Red Army & NKVD. It's similar to judo, but it allows leg locks and chokes. It also has fewer restrictions regarding gripping.

There are two types, stand-up Combat Sambo vs. grappling Combat Sambo. Stand-up Combat Sambo uses striking techniques like knees and elbows, while grappling Sambo focuses on subduing and ground fighting. Each competitor has a time limit for grappling on the ground in a street fight. The opponent is not permitted to elbow or knee the competitor.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a street fighting martial art, is very effective and many people want to learn it. BJJ techniques are useful in situations where you might be injured or lose your life. BJJ can be a competitive sports, but it also teaches grappling techniques which can keep the attacker off balance and avoid strikes.

Street fighting is a completely different sport from traditional MMA. Street fighting puts the focus on the fight and not on the endurance. The goal is to finish the fight as quickly as possible. Street fighting is freestyle so there are no predetermined rounds. The opponent's strength and weaponry will affect how intense the attack is. It's important that you stay alive and don't get killed.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai is an effective form of self defense. It requires the use of your elbows as well as your knees. It's fast and can be used in street fights. It allows fighters to fight from close range and land powerful strikes. These are two crucial factors in street fighting.

Unlike other forms of martial arts, Muay Thai is full contact, so being hit can be an incredible shock for many people. Particularly if this is the first contact with an aggressive person. This shock can cause people to freeze, and it can leave them vulnerable.

MMA

MMA is arguably one of the most exciting combat sports in the world. Although it might not be suitable for street fighting, a skilled MMA fighter will likely dominate a street fight. Street fights are fast and the adrenaline-pumped men can swing at each other at speeds of up to 100 miles an hour. Street fights usually end with one of the fighters taking the floor, and the winner is quickly determined.

The main difference between MMA & boxing is the fact that MMA focuses on teaching effective combat skills against a single opponent. Even though it may not work against multiple aggressors, it will teach appropriate techniques and how the best to assess a situation.

Taekwondo

Taekwondo, which is one of the best striking martial arts worldwide, has millions of practitioners. It is a centuries-old art with many schools and instructors. The art teaches powerful hitting techniques and can be successful both standing and on the ground. It is also a full body workout, which requires concentration and discipline.

Taekwondo can be used to protect your body and self in street fights even though it's not as effective as in competitions. To attack the opponent's lower part, you can use a 45-degree kick. It is often the most vulnerable. This kick is not as strong as others in Taekwondo but it is quick and surprise attacks the opponent.

How To

How to Survive a Home Invasion

Home invasion can be a frightening thought, especially if there are children involved. We didn't expect to live through home invasion when we started our journey with installing a home security system. Here are the lessons we have learned thus far.

  1. Don't let your children witness the attackers. Two men broke into our home upstairs while our kids were sleeping. They were taken downstairs by us until police arrived. The police arrived and our kids were not hurt. However, the traumatizing images did enough to make them feel scared.
  2. Lock all valuables. The safe is located in our bedroom. We keep all valuables locked up. Even if someone breaks into the house, they won't be able to access it.
  3. Keep an eye on Burglars. Our neighborhood is known for its high number of burglaries. We watch out for suspicious cars and people.
  4. Always have a backup plan. If anything happens to us, our family will be taken care of financially. We also have a plan in place to leave the country if necessary.
  5. Be Prepared. You must be prepared if you find yourself in a position where you have to defend your life. Be prepared with food, water, as well as other supplies.
  6. Get help immediately by calling 911. After you discover that someone is breaking into your home, immediately call 911. It is better than waiting for authorities to knock on your door.
  7. Use common sense. Do not allow anyone to enter the house if they aren't welcome. Also, don't invite strangers to come over.
  8. Seek out help from neighbors and other people in the local area. If you feel unsafe, contact your friends and neighbors. They can watch your back, while you call the police.
  9. Be calm and follow the instructions of police officers. Stay calm and do exactly as instructed by officers. Do not run or resist arrest.
  10. Take Pictures Of Any Evidence. Photograph any evidence that is found during an investigation. This includes blood samples and fingerprints.
  11. Local Law Enforcement Can Be Reported. Report to law enforcement, even if there was no injury. Doing so may prevent future crimes against you.
  12. Contact your Insurance Company immediately. You should immediately contact your insurance company. Tell your insurance company everything that has happened, and ask them to send an adjuster.
  13. Remove Personal Belongings. Before you leave the scene, remove personal belongings. Don't wear expensive jewelry. Take it off and put it away.
  14. Take Care of Yourself. Make sure you clean up after yourself. Make sure you empty the trash, clean up any broken glass, and lock all doors.
  15. Talk about What Has Been. It is not a good idea to talk about the events that happened to you. It is possible that someone might use the information against you.
